We recently completed this garden room project for a family in Weymouth, Dorset. The customers wanted more space for their teenage son to hang out with his friends and do his college work, without the headache and expense of extending the family home.
I cannot fault Mike and his team. Professional, tidy and lovely to have around. Communication was excellent and the finished project is amazing! Would highly recommend.

The original request was to knock down a brick outbuilding and build the garden room in its place. However, we recommended that it would be more cost-effective to make use of the existing structure and build the garden room as an extension to it.

Garden room extension from start to finish
We made use of the existing concrete footings and built an elevated base to allow airflow and prevent any rising damp. In the brick building, we also applied damp-proofing and installed a new elevated timber floor to connect with the extension.
The existing roof was removed from the outbuilding, allowing us to connect the timber frame to the brick, and then fit a new flat rubber roof with vented soffits to provide airflow.
Once we had fitted the windows, door, insulation, and all the required electrical feeds, we installed the plasterboard ready for finishing.
